Technical walkthrough · Nexus AI Platform · 8 min

GIS, ERP, ADMS, and maintenance answering together — without replacing the systems you already run.

Watch the full 8-minute walkthrough of the Nexus AI Platform — 8 minutes and 19 seconds, recorded directly in the platform, with English narration and no slide deck. See how utilities and network operators query across connected systems in plain language, design and price new service connections, validate projects before they touch the GIS, and keep GIS job servers running smoothly — all inside their own environment.

Control First: Organizations, Access & Audit Trail

One installation serves from 1 to 10 or more operating units, each with its own environment, controls, and access. Each user works in English, French, or Portuguese. Administrators set granular role-based access — one person may only see GIS data, another may only run calculations, another may see everything — connected to Microsoft Entra ID. The audit trail shows what was done, how, and by whom.

Nexus Workspace: Ask in Plain Language

Ask across maintenance, ERP, and Smallworld GIS. A question such as “which active assets may need maintenance?” comes back with counts, installation dates, and asset IDs anyone can trace. The answer can be a report, a data table, or a dashboard: live network maps, vegetation risk, and an executive overview. Save a template, customize the home screen, and share with other departments or external clients. Access stays controlled, and shared links can expire.

Grid Planner: New Service Connections, Designed & Priced

Place a point on the map, choose the connection type, and generate. The design follows your GIS database, your business rules, and your compliance procedures. It checks the GIS for the network and the ERP for costs, then returns the estimate: cost, route length, structures, and expected duration. The PDF is a complete preliminary package for engineering review — a single-line diagram, voltage-drop and protection checks, pole and route schedules, the bill of materials with the cost estimate, and a compliance checklist before construction.

Project Import: Checked Before It Reaches Your GIS

Create a project and upload the files. Checks start right away, then you preview on the map exactly what will be imported. At check-in, your company’s quality rules, compliance checks, and automation run inside Nexus, not inside your GIS, so the GIS is not overloaded. When everything passes, download a PDF summary and send the design to your GIS for final review and post. An optional contractor portal lets outside firms submit on the same screen, through the same checks, before your team sees the project.

    Controller: Self-Healing GIS Job Servers

Controller watches Smallworld GIS job queues continuously. When a large job arrives, it can hold that job, let urgent work through first, and then send the big job. If a job server fails, Controller restarts it by itself. It messages the right people on WhatsApp or Telegram, and anyone waiting for a job to post can ask for its status. It runs in Kubernetes, so fewer dedicated servers are needed.

In the Field & Nexus Gateway: From Field Crews to Open Integration

Field crews use a Telegram chat bot to request network information and send updates from site. Nexus Gateway is how in-house IT connects new software later: the platform is installed with your connections already working, and your team connects what comes next, with documentation and training. You are never locked in.

Spatial Studio: GIS Data for Every Department

One lightweight web interface across one GIS or several, the same for every user. Move around the map, see the network symbology, filter the layers, and draw or choose an area. Access control is granular. If the company allows it, authorized users can make edits. Other departments see the information on the web, without consuming GIS server resources and without relying on manual exports.

    Your Environment, Your Rules

Nothing leaves your environment. Nexus runs on your own cloud infrastructure or on premises, and every report and workflow can be shaped to the way you work. The platform is not tied to one AI model.
